Dental implant surgery has evolved significantly with the introduction of surgical guides, which ensure higher accuracy, personalized treatment, and improved patient outcomes. These guides act as navigational tools, helping dentists place implants precisely according to preoperative plans.
Firstly, we need to know what are surgical guide? Surgical guides are custom-made templates that direct the exact position, angle, and depth of dental implants during surgery. They are designed using advanced imaging technologies like CT scans or digital volume tomography (DVT) to create 3D models of the patient’s jaw. This data is then processed through CAD software to plan the optimal implant placement. There are two types of surgical guides: Static Guides (this is what Lee Dental Design Lab do, it’s fixed and made of 3D-printed plastics or resins) and Dynamic Guides.
Secondly, if you want to make surgical guides, then please follow the below digital workflow:
1. to send us the following files, such as CT/DVT scans capture jawbone structure, digital scans, tools you use, pictures for drill.
2. to design in our lab through CAD software plans implant positioning for functional and aesthetic results. We will give you report first for comfirmation and communication for revise or improving, then final report for final design. Normally we only send STL files.
3. to produce in your own lab, or you can ask us to print out the surgical guide in our lab then we ship to you from China, it may takes 3-5 days depending on different locations.
Thirdly, send your digital scans today!
